Ralph Laren Noll

...was raised in the small coastal town of Shelton, Washington nestled at the foot of the Olympic Mountains. He began painting landscapes in oils at an early age. His natural ease for painting came from his mother’s side of the family. His Aunt, Sarah Richards, was a successful painter of floral landscapes in Hawaii.

When Noll graduated from high school, he received a wrestling scholarship to Olympic College. He majored in engineering but was subsequently drafted and served in Vietnam. After returning from the war, he put his design, construction and woodworking talents to good use, building and rehabbing houses.

As a painter, he has participated in juried shows at The West Avenue and Thamm Galleries in downtown Spokane, Washington. He recently won first place at the Spokane Veteran’s Art Show and "Freedom" sits in an honorable spot at 49 Degrees North, a ski resort in Washington State.

He currently lives in Spokane, WA in a house he designed and built.
